"Wild boar prefer to spend most of the day hiding in thick conifers, making them a hard subject to photograph – but I regularly heard and had fleeting glimpses of the thorough the trees. On one day a family of four bolted from under a low canopy no more than a few meters in front of me. Spending time in their habitat is a valuable learning experience reading their ways by different spore. It required me to tune into my sixth sense." (HM)
Hamish has created a series of bronze Wild Boar sculptures in a variety of characteristic poses.
This bronze Wild Boar sculpture is life size and would make an arresting focal point when placed in a garden.
"When the occasion presents itself, it is beneficial to work from a carcass. With a carcass it is possible to skin half of the animal for anatomical reference. I did this when sculpting this Wild Boar Life Size." (HM)

THIS SCULPTURE IN THE MAKING
When the occasion presents itself, it is beneficial to work from a carcass. With a carcass it is possible to skin half of the animal for anatomical reference. I used this method when sculpting the Wild Boar Life Size in my studio.
