Hamish Mackie’s bronze bust of Sir Winston Churchill has been acquired by Blenheim Palace and put on display for visitors. It can be viewed in the permanent Winston Churchill Exhibition at the stately home in Oxfordshire.
Fans of Gary Oldman’s portrayal of Churchill in the recent film “Darkest Hour”, which has prompted a resurgence of interest in the British leader, will recognise Mackie’s Churchill. The sculpture bears his uncanny likeness but also resonates with his spirit.
Entrance to the exhibition is included in admission to the Palace, Park and Gardens. Tickets are available from the Blenheim Palace website.
