Hamish’s Cheetah sculptures embody the very essence of these elegant Big Cats. His bronze casting of their lithe slender bodies and intelligent streamlined heads, conveys all of the grace, speed and agility the Cheetah is known for.

Captured in repose and in flight, Hamish’s smaller Cheetah sculptures are representations of the African Cats in typical positions. Hamish manages to communicate simultaneously an anatomical realism and a sense of the animal’s spirit, making these limited edition sculptures a truly special addition to any interior.

Famously known for their speed and agility, Hamish’s bronze Cheetah on a Termite Mound sculpture shows the calm beauty of the big cat when it is still. Its long elegant limbs and watchful gaze remind us that at any moment she could take flight. Together with Cheetah Chase, these cheetah sculptures make a delightful pair, complementing each other perfectly.

When driving to my lodgings at sunset one evening at Lewa Conservancy, Kenya I drove past a cheetah using a termite mound as a look out. I stopped, watched it and photographed it. It was an inspiring pose for a sculpture. Using my research material I created Cheetah on a Termite Mound in my studio. This is a typical example of sculpting a visual moment, and is a good example to show why research trips are so important to my work.
