In 2019, I sculpted two life size lion after an incredible research trip to the Lewa-Borana landscape in Kenya.

With my studies of lion, leopard and cheetah heads I have sculpted each to the same scale. When seen as a trio or a pair, you can really get an idea of the size differences between them. I wanted people to be able to see the individual species evolution and how they have honed skill sets to become the very different predators they are.

    Making Lion Sculptures at Lewa

    In February this year, I returned to what feels like my second home, Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in Northern Kenya. It is here that my sculpting began in 1996, so it is a very special place for me.
