Originally designed as the ultimate plinth for displaying perfume bottles in Penhaligon’s global flagship stores, this sculptural display table embodies both strength and refinement. The bronze lion base conveys heritage and authority, while the 40cm Italian fusion marble top provides a striking contemporary surface that elevates any object it supports.

Conceived as a multifunctional display piece, the table is equally at home presenting candles, floral arrangements, clocks, or treasured objets d’art. Whether used as a functional plinth or admired as a standalone artefact, it adds gravitas and storytelling to any interior scheme bringing classic symbolism, a sense of ceremony and permanence to its surroundings.

An original commission by Penhaligon’s lead to the development of a broader collection. As well as this lion display table, the collection includes a larger Penhaligon’s Lion Table and the matching Penhaligon’s Lioness Table, and a limited edition scaled down bronze Lion.

Together, these works sit at the intersection of sculpture, furniture, and design. Although conceived for a global luxury house, they are rooted in traditional making and intended to endure as highly collectible objects.

I have just returned from another visit to the Northern Rangelands Trust in Kenya. As a sculptor, studying wildlife in its natural habitat is the only way to understand an animal. The NRT's work is making a real difference to preserving those habitats. And this has a favourable impact on the people and animals that live there too.
