In early 2025, I was approached by architect and interior designers Michalis Boyd, who are based in London and New York. They asked if I could create a sculptural table centrepiece for the relaunch of Penhaligon’s global flagship stores. Penhaligon’s are perfumers to the King
under the Puig umbrella.
The commission called for a bronze lion table to display fragrance. It needed to be an object that could express heritage, authority, and craftsmanship within a contemporary retail setting.
With a background in furniture and product design, and a long-standing interest in functional
sculpture, this project felt like a natural extension of my skills. As a student, I studied artists and designers such as Ron Arad, Danny Lane, Tom Dixon, and Alberto Giacometti. In their work, material, form, and function are inseparable and objects are allowed to exist as both artwork and furniture.
