Hamish was commissioned by a collector to sculpt a version of Yusuf Karsh’s iconic portrait of Sir Winston Churchill, taken on the war-time Prime Minister’s visit to Canada in 1941. The photograph of a scowling Churchill was achieved when Karsh forcibly removed his cigar from his mouth!

The Duke of Marlborough, pictured here with Hamish and the clay original, acquired Hamish’s 2017 Churchill bust which is in the permanent Churchill exhibition at Blenheim Palace.

The second of the 2023 edition is also going to Blenheim.
