Garden sculptures at Chelsea flower show and Blenheim June 15, 2016
One of the things that informs my work is the relationship between wildlife and its natural habitat. This is why my pieces work so well as garden sculptures. So exhibiting at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show is a real highlight in my year! Planned months in advance, it takes 800 people 33 days to put together the show! They build a spectacular event that attracts more than 165,000 visitors to see 500 exhibitors. I was lucky enough to be right opposite Cleve West’s M & G Garden which won a gold medal. Of course we also saw all the Royal Family.
The design of my own stand showed off my work as garden sculptures. It was created and installed by the Rachael White Designs and Z. Laszlo Landscaping. In addition, there was a stunning trompe l’oeil by Susannah Lampard. This beautiful hand-painted backdrop brought depth and drama to the stand. Working to my brief, she created a natural woodland setting for my Roe Deer.
