Hamish Mackie at Chelsea Flower Show 2025 June 5, 2025

It was a wonderful spring week at Chelsea Flower Show this year, with mostly sunshine and blue skies to keep all the visitors happy!

My sculpture garden took two weeks to build and looked absolutely spectacular thanks to the ‘design and build’ team at Bowles and Wyer.

The planting was loved by the bees and really showed the sculptures in a natural environment.  The stand felt quite open and welcoming, and we had lots of visitors taking photos, especially of my new Highland Cow!

Like every year, Chelsea week was a great opportunity to catch up with old friends and collectors, fellow sculptors, and of course meet new people. I always enjoy seeing the reaction when visitors come face to face with my sculptures.

I was particularly pleased with how well the garden set off my sculptures. It is always a difficult decision to decide which sculptures to exhibit at Chelsea. I like to give people the chance to see new work, like my Highland Cow Life Size, Otters Playing Underwater, and Cormorant.  My new bronze Roe Deer were also on display and a couple of my life size Wolf sculptures. I took some old favourites as well, including Leopard Climbing Tree, Stainless Steel Turtles, Eagle, Greyhound, and Lion and Lioness Life Size.

A big thank you to Bowles & Wyer for designing and building such a wonderful garden, to the RHS for awarding us 5 stars for our stand, and to my daughter Matilda for helping me all week!

And of course, thank you to all those that came to say hello. Look forward to seeing you again next year.
