This little elephant calf brings back fond memories of sculpting from life in the Ngorongoro Crater. Few things compare to the thrill of direct observation, working just meters away from wild elephants in the relative safety of Joel’s Land Cruiser. Joel, our wonderful Nomad guide, had an incredible sixth sense for animal behaviour. In fact, it was often hard to convince him to stop for elephants, as his true passion lay in tracking the elusive leopard!

This Elephant Calf sculpture was the original larger sculpture scaled down to produce the Elephant pendant.

The NRT's work is making a real difference to preserving those habitats. And this has a favourable impact on the people and animals that live there too.
