Roe deer are one of our most graceful native deer species, dating back over 10,000 years to the Mesolithic period.

Small and shy, they live in woodland and are mostly active at dawn and dusk. Roe deer are elegant nimble creatures, and when alarmed, will flee with a bounding gait.

 

Hamish has created a bronze Roe Buck sculpture of a deer head which shows the short upright antlers, alert ears and big eyes of the male Roe deer.

This sculpture would make a perfect gift for wildlife lovers.

Roe have been a favourite subject of mine for many years. We have a handsome buck living in our garden who is always a delight to see – as long as he keeps off the roses!

    As a sculptor, I am always pleased when my pieces are made available as public art. Sometimes a collector puts one of my pieces on display to a wider audience or I receive a commission for a sculpture for a specific public place. I really enjoy knowing that my work will be appreciated by visitors and passers-by.
