Chelsea Flower Show 2023 - the build up! May 18, 2023

With only a week to go, we have been busy getting ready for RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2023. I’ve really enjoyed curating this year’s exhibition. There are lots of new sculptures on the stand this year, like Swifts 2022 – the first of the edition is now installed at Royal Hospital Bath in their new Dyson Cancer Centre.

Other new sculptures we are bringing to Chelsea include Wild Boar Life Size, Greyhound, Lobster, Suffolk Punch and Arabian Horse. I hope you will come along and see them.

Last week we sent a small catalogue of new sculptures out to everyone on our mailing list.We will also be sending an e-mail to collectors and supporters in the next few days. I’ve also been busy getting the sculptures ready, changing plinths so plants and undergrowth can be planted around the Wild Boar, and changing the Ammonite core ten plinth for a shorter stone one so that it doesn’t block the stand too much.

This is going to be a particularly special year at Chelsea as it is Coronation year and we are proud to be celebrating all that is British! I’m looking forward to seeing the King and Queen when they visit on Monday.

The exhibition stand is once again designed and built by Bowles & Wyer and looks fantastic! We are in the usual place at Stand RHW/292, so do drop by and say hello.

Sadly, I have damaged my back and am waiting for an operation. I hope to be on the stand all week but if you can’t find me, my wife Laura and eldest daughter Isabella will be there and happy to help.

We are all looking forward to a week in London, seeing old clients and meeting new ones.  All we need now is some sunshine, so fingers crossed for the great British weather!
