An exciting new chapter May 20, 2026

This year, for the first time in many seasons, I will not be exhibiting at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026.

While Chelsea Flower Show has always been an important part of the calendar, stepping away this year has offered something increasingly rare — uninterrupted time in the studio.

Over recent months, that time has been invested fully in sculpting: developing new works, revisiting ideas long held in sketchbooks, and pushing several important pieces towards completion. The quieter rhythm has allowed for a deeply productive period creatively, one that will form the foundation of an exciting new chapter for Hamish Mackie Sculptures.

Alongside this work, we are preparing the launch of a new website and catalogue, both designed to present the collection with greater depth and clarity, and to make it easier for clients, collectors and designers to explore current and forthcoming pieces.

Although absent from Chelsea this year, the studio remains very active behind the scenes — with new commissions underway, new sculptures emerging, and plans already in motion for a return to RHS Chelsea Flower Show next year.

There is something valuable about stepping back briefly in order to move forward with renewed focus and ambition. This season has allowed precisely that.

I look forward to sharing more of the new work in the months ahead.
